If you and your wife don't smoke, remember to choose non smoking ladies when you go out for fun. You may not realise it but ladies can detect the difference in smell.
The ML catbathed you with cigarette smell saliva. Then you didn't wash cleanly (like back of ears). A whiff of cigarette smell or the smell of a different type of body wash (shokubutsu smell quite strong). All tell tale signs.
