In times of tragedy, many seek their god for comfort

An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:

Not a religious discussion here, but it seems many FB posts on the MH17 tragendy reply with pray to xxxx for peace or may xxxxx xxxxxx their soul.

So started the after-dinner conversation with my best friend (yes the gay uncle to my kids) came by for a meal with the family tonight. We talked about religion, MH17 and the recent attacks on religion by homosexual lifestyle supporters.

As usual, both my wife and I had an engaging discussion on these subjects to a point where we get into a heated debate away from the children's ears that always eaves me so very emotionally drained that I wonder sadly if our friendship of so long is slowly being polarized, divided and soon torn apart by the growing uncompromising voice of a sick lifestyle choice of the defective minority packaged into a nice term called "gay rights".

But anyway, the gist of our discussion started out by say how so many people have turned to a divine piety in hope of seeking solace or perhaps as a means to transfer their fears/sadness/anxiety etc of the senseless tragedy onto perhaps a real or imagined supreme being.

Maybe a more profound question of man's complexity of the mind: To have wished so hard, to hope when things are hopeless, one can only wish that they could lay the their hurt onto a place so beyond their understanding that it could perhaps help to explain the inexplicable.

Which makes me think, of all the religion bashing made by homosexual supporters in recent days, what mode of transference would they at this very moment to reconcile these feelings?

Perhaps then when straight people mourn and cry out to a higher being to help them understand the pain, anti-religion homos must be busily getting hammered/shafted or hammering/shafting their partners assholes furiously as a means of emotional escape. Thus, these religion bashing homo's "god" is a dark and filthy shit hole.

So maybe it was my fault of thinking out too loud, but as much as I love XXXXXXXXX dearer than I would my own sibling, his homosexuality vs. my stance on family is one that might one day make us hate each other as much as we loved one another.

Sigh.
