There is no such thai saying of saang liao yang.

And also when you want to use "and" in a common thai conversation
Kao Ka Moo Song Jaan GUP Cha Yen Song Kaew

2 plates of Pork Knuckle Rice AND 2 glasses of Iced Tea.

*BTW, I don't need the THAI Dictionary and can tell your usage is wrong above.

JNYW corrected the error. He just corrected spelling for 2. No one see anything wrong with that. However, you have to be "gay kiang" and corrected the spelling from 1 to 10 and added the intonation too. What's is the point of that?

When people tell you not to be too "gay kiang" u simply cannot take it and still insist that you are correct and cannot accept other's point of view.
damn funny. i responded to the threadstarter as i saw deemed fit... i contributed from my source of reference with intonation, as i felt it made better sense. however, your rebutal only directed at my post, and so it spells clearly to me that you've nothing constructive, but pure irritance.

cant accept others point of view? of cos cant... i have to raise the point that 2 is not pronouced as SWANG... as you critically claimed it to be correct at the beginning.

gei kiang??? ya indeed you are trying too much gei kiang... its JWNY not JNYW. dunno is u really cant read or blind.

gd contribution... well, apart from "taan" & "gin" which r most commonly used in relation to food. there's actually several other words applicable.... but seldom or rarely used.

i.e: joh, pohk, yat, sep, aem, daek...etc. of which, some are often associated with consumption, acquisition, devour, scouff or devouring... be it food, or assets, property...

eg: a famished person gobbling down food quickly, is not described as "gin/taan ah-haan"... but to be precise is more like "yat ah-haan"

while u'd commonly hear them say "gin naam" - drink water. bt there's also "deurm naam" or "daek naam"

other words used in relation to consuming water, apart from "gin" or "deurm"

i.e.: joh, ton, doot, lor, sot, daek, jip...etc (jip is more in context of sipping)

eg: when the tea is served piping hot, itd be alright to say "jip" or "sot" instead of "deum"

Hi Bro suteerak1099,

thanks for the insight. Could you help us by letting us know what are the meanings of those words and maybe give examples of how we can use it? Like the example you have given in "yat ah-haan" which means gobble.

sorry, i'm not the relief teacher here... i just thought, since we're on the topic, i thought i'd just share a little more.... anyway, all of which related to consumption, in terms of food/fluids, some... acquisition of property/assets...etc.

Sorry I asked.

Guess all other samsters who knows Thai should also not contribute too afterall they are also not, like you said, "relief teachers".

Guess my judgement of you was wrong.

My 2 cents worth.
